What is NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian government initiative that is designed to support individuals with disabilities, including individuals with physical, sensory and psycho-social disabilities. The NDIS offers funding to those eligible individuals, enabling them to gain more time with family and friends, enhanced independence, and opportunities for acquiring new skills, jobs, or engaging in volunteer activities within their community.
The NDIS also helps individuals with disabilities access services available in their community.
This includes connections to doctors, community groups, sporting clubs, support groups, libraries and schools, as well as information provided by state and territory governments. This ensures that individuals facing challenges in daily life receive early support to achieve optimal outcomes day in and day out.
